September 27, 2025 – In honor of the AJWC International Day of Service, the Aiken Junior Women’s Club (AJWC) came together for a cause close to the heart of the community: supporting the Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons. Through hard work, dedication, and a shared commitment to service, members of AJWC made a meaningful impact by raising both awareness and resources for this vital local organization.
A total of seven AJWC members volunteered their time and energy, contributing 20 collective hours to sort, organize, and deliver much-needed donations. Their efforts resulted in a generous contribution valued at $822.17, directly benefiting the Cumbee Center's programs that provide safety, advocacy, and support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The day was more than just a service event—it was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community unites in compassion. “This is what AJWC is all about,” said a participating member. “Supporting women, families, and organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives.”
The AJWC’s partnership with the Cumbee Center not only provided tangible resources but also helped raise awareness of the center’s mission and the ongoing need for community involvement in ending domestic violence.
As part of the broader International Day of Service initiative, the AJWC is proud to stand alongside other clubs around the globe in demonstrating that even a single day of action can have a lasting impact.
